Local Accountants Move to Madeley
A local firm of accountants has taken its own leap this February 29th by leasing a shop based on Madeley High Street.
TaxAssist Accountants, owned and run by husband and wife team Chris and Eira Moore, are currently based in the Business Development Centre on Stafford Park 4 but took the decision to move to new premises after the business experienced rapid and extensive growth.
“We started TaxAssist just over two and a half years ago after each spending well over twenty years working in accountancy – myself in practice, and Chris in industry – and our client base has grown so strongly in that time that we’ve had to expand our team” explained Eira.
“We’ve taken on two members of staff in the last few months alone, and at the end of last year also took on a payroll bureau to further strengthen the service that we can offer to businesses and individuals across Telford and Wrekin” she added.
The couple has been looking for the right location for the business for some time, and the vacant shop at the bottom of the High Street is ideal. “There’s a great frontage, a large room for the team to work from, plus additional space at the rear which will allow us to expand further in the months and years ahead” explained Chris. “It’s just perfect really, although the building is a little run down right now and in need of some renovation.”
Builders have already started work and a complete makeover is under way, with the team planning to take possession and start trading from the new site in March.
“When we realised we’d have access to the property on the 29th and could really get started on our plans to rework the space, it seemed apt somehow” added Chris. “It’s a leap year and this is a real leap forward for our business! We’re really looking forward to calling Madeley our home and in getting to know all of the wonderful businesses and people already here” he concluded.
