New Recycling Centre will save £140,000p.a.

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Telford & Wrekin Council’s Household Recycling Centres (HRC) will see some changes later this year.

The revamp will see recycling centres at Ketley and Granville close on the 2nd October 2016. In their place a brand new facility will be available which is currently under construction at Hortonwood and will open on Monday 3rd October 2016.

These changes will result in an enhanced seven day a week service and also deliver a saving of £140,000.

The new Household Recycling Centre located at Hortonwood 60 is part of the waste management contract with Veolia. Veolia will also manage the existing recycling centre at Halesfield and from Monday 3rd October 2016 both facilities will be open seven days a week, 362 days a year, (only closing on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day) 9am to 5pm. This change will result in the centres being open 770 hours extra each year and removes the uncertainty of whether a site is open or not on any given day.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_gmaps link=”#E-8_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” title=”Location”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”6072″ img_size=”full” title=”Artists Impression “][/vc_column][/vc_row]

  • Not a landfill site so how is the recycling dealt with? Where does it end up? No sign of an incinerator chimney.
