Telford Cops set to use drones in battle against nuisance motorcycles.

Telford Cops set to use drones in battle against nuisance motorcycles.

Parkland and open ground in South Telford is a common area for off road motorcycles to be ridden illegally and police are prepared to combat the riders with the latest technology.

The drone will provide a rapid method of getting an eye in the sky, and much cheaper than using the police helicopter.

Those caught can expect their bikes to be seized.

Good, there’s a couple of the little knobheads, who use Alma Avenue and the paths as their own private Brands Hatch. And then you’ve got the total W***er on the Quad bike who had it on the back wheels, going up to town from Lawler Traffic lights this evening.

If it took less than 10 minutes to report someone riding a defective, unregistered motorbike at speed with no helmet they might catch more of them.

A drone isn’t going to stop anything, just the police “being seen to be doing something” about it. But as Stan said if they built an area for them to ride they might not hit the streets so much

Won’t be long before someone clocks sight of the drone in action and knocks it out the sky, People try it with pro drones all the time.

Unless they are going to spend a lot on drones, the images captured trying to chase said people will not be sufficient for evidence. (and lets face it with their cuts, would they be able to?)
