‘Bechers Brook’ Your verdict on new roundabout

‘Bechers Brook’ Your verdict on new roundabout

The grand unveiling of the Denso traffic island last week had Telford talking.

Funded by Denso, every aspect of the design of the island has been carefully thought through; from the cherry trees representing the boundaries of local parish council wards of Apley Castle, Hadley & Leegomery and Wrockwardine Wood & Trench, to the structure reflecting the company’s care for the environment.

Senior Golfer suggested on Twitter, the hedge more than a passing resemblance to Bechers Brook, a famous jump on Aintree Racecourse.

We took the special Telford Live camera down to get a birds eye view of the island.

What do you think?

We’ll put loose stone by the grass so when TWS actually do some work and have to cut it they can spray the cars with gravel as they pass……

Dont see why people had to sit in traffic, as the roundabout was closed to 1 lane, just for this bag of shit to be built. Just like the train station bridge, causing lots of traffic and delays on the busiest roads just for things to ‘look nicer’ when in reality, no one gives a shit what it looks like.

WHAT A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!!

I know “they” will say it was a gift, but someone, somewhere, has worked for that money & it’s just been squandered!!

I suppose it’s something nice to look at while you’re stuck in grid lock traffic because of the shite traffic lights islands further up that are not in sink with each other. Telford is becoming a traffic joke.

Awful. Too much design and not enough heart. Bring back the wildflowers

Waste of money or not, tbh, I’d rather Telford look nice than an utter shit tip. Fair play to them.

Doesn’t matter what anyone tries to do with improving an island there is always negative comments. I’d rather have anything from wildflowers to a stone structure or this desig . What your preference I think you’ve got to agree its better than what was there…like it or not.

What’s wrong with some of you people posting vile negative crap, anything that makes the area should be seen as a good thing surely? Whatever the council do they are damned by morons like you, get a life and do something positive with your lives rather than be a keyboard warrior spouting crap.

DENSO’s refurbishment of the island links into a whole new training facility and says ‘thank you’ to all the community groups they work with. Judging by some of the comments above, people have no clue about how much DENSO contributes to our community. It might be worth making an effort to understand the project before criticizing?
