Lions Christmas Box Appeal

Lions Christmas Box Appeal

We are asking you to help us fill as many Christmas Boxes as possible – each one we fill with food and treats will be delivered to a family or individual identified by Telford & Wrekin Social Services team and partners as being especially deserving of our help and support.

The Lions Christmas Box scheme is our way of giving those less fortunate than ourselves a very special treat at Christmas. Christmas expectations can be high but for those living in poverty, facing homelessness or family breakdown it can be a time of misery, especially where children are concerned. There are also many people, young and old, who have no family and face an equally unhappy time at what should be a joyous period for all.

Ironbridge Lions and their families and friends will arrange to collect all of your donations and store them prior to sorting, packing and distribution. But we are appealing for some extra in order that we can meet the needs of as many families and individuals as possible.

There are a number of ways in which individuals or groups are able to get involved by: –

• donating food items
• organising a food collection at their place of work, school, college, church or group or by simply asking friends.
• helping to sort, wrap and pack the Christmas Boxes
• making a monetary donation to allow us to purchase additional food items

We are not being prescriptive and will accept any foodstuff that is non perishable and is within its sell by date.

If you are interested in helping us to help those less fortunate than ourselves at this special time of the year then please look at our website http://www.ironbridgelions.org.uk/ where you will be able to register your interest. You can then collect items in any way that you wish, and we will arrange a visit, at a time to suit you, to collect the goods.
