Suffrage and Equality Event
Step back in time to early 20th centuary Britain and join us at the Museum of Iron at celebratory conference, funded through the centenary funds, as part of the centenary celebrations of women getting the vote.
We are holding the conference on 10th November in the Glass Classroom Coalbrookdale 9.15-13.15. ( registration from 9.00 am).
We have a group of inspiring speakers who will be giving presentations on the suffragettes, women in activism, past and present, the empowerment of women and women in politics.
There will be additional presentations on human trafficking and from Axis, a charity which councils victims of sexual abuse in childhood.
There will also be an exhibition in the covered bays of copies of posters from the suffrage campaign plus silhouette statues symbolising some of the women workers from the iron works factory who voted for the first time on 14th December 1918
