Thieves literally take a fence

Thieves literally take a fence

Councillors were left scratching their heads this week as it appears that thieves have made off with 12ft lengths of 4×2 timber.

The wood, which was part of a newly erected fence in Randlay Valley, is going to have to be replaced and contractors paid to fix it.

If a anyone saw any vehicles loading wood over the past few days, around Queen Elisabeth Avenue in Randlay, please contact Police.

Many years ago I worked as a Countryside ranger in the north west. We wouldn’t dream of building a fence without stapling steel wire along every rail. If we didn’t this would happen. Some folk will steal ought.
