Just spent the last 2 days chilling at Alton Towersn & have to say I had a fantastic time.I planned my trip with the help of their website [url="http://www.altontowers.com"]ALTON TOWERS[/url]The price of £34pp put me off at first but when we arrived at the park there were half price discount vouchers available so at £17 a head it was good value for money. We took advantage of another offer the park itself offered "come back tomorrow for £8", bargain!On arrival we paid £4.00 for a car park token & £3.00 for an all day locker where we kept our packed lunch & our change of clothes. I recommend that you take your own food especially if you are going as a family otherwise it will be a very costly experience. MacDonalds has lost its franchise with the park & it is now Burger King with a meal costing in the region of £5-8 they have other food outlets KFC, Pizza Hut & their own hotdogs, sandwiches, doughnouts etc etc but all starting from around £3-50 upwards. On a brighter note the drink option of paying £5.00 for an all day soft drink refill is really good value, 4 of us went we each paid £1.25 & drank our fillIn colder weather a change of clothes is a MUST! We would have frozen if we hadnt taken a complete set of dry clothes, im so glad I was a worry wart & made everyone pack them.The rides themselves were all operational & the longest queue was 25 minutes but mostly we walked straight onto the rides the only exception being the Skylift which was non operational which meant walking vast distances betweern "zones" to the rides which by the end of the day became very tiring & cut down our time on the rides.On the plus side the park was clean the staff were friendly, polite & helpful & the rides were operational. On the down side the car parking charge of £4.00 seemed a little unfair as the £34 entrance fee to the park should pretty much cover you for the day, shouldn`t it? The food & drink were very very expensive.Overall, go visit its ACE!!!
