When I was a lad, during school holidays I used to go with ny Dad in his van delivering stuff all over the UK. About 1980 to 1983. This is probably against all the rules these days, but I learned a lot about UK geography and the motorway network. One example was going to the South West. We used to set off about 7am, getting the Worcester junction of the M5 via Bridgnorth & Kiddiminster almost bang on 8am, the record being 50 mins. This was in a T reg (1979) Bedford CF or Transit, both with Luton bodies, so about as aero dynamic as a brick!I did the same trip yesterday, 25 years later in a car, it took me a full 20 mins longer. Progress?
