Wrekin Inn Open Mic
March 21 @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm
We meet every Tuesday at the Wrekin Inn, Wrekin Road, Wellington. First act 8:00. You don’t have to book, just turn up and let Jo know that you want to play.
We have a small PA (including monitors) which runs through a small mixing desk so the sound on and off stage is good. We are able to adapt to most line ups… and we have been tested. An electronic drum kit is available on request, send Jo a text on 0797 4621223 by 5pm the same day, just to make sure we bring it.
Mostly we play 3 or 4 songs depending on time available. We welcome all styles folk, rock, blues etc…. all set ups acoustic, electric, solo, duets, full bands and the occasional singing dog!
The most important thing to us is that we have a good time, everyone here has started somewhere and we like to support anyone starting out (at whatever age) but we are also lucky to have some fine professional & semi professional musicians as regulars, just for the fun of it.
We have a regular audience of people who come just to enjoy the music and friendship, sometimes cake and occasional celebrations.
Special events this year include:
FIRST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH, NEW SONG WEEK just to keep it interesting regulars are encouraged to learn a new song, its not compulsory but a useful habit and sometimes we set themes….
OPEN MIC Live album : Towards the end of the year we will be making a live album of the best individual performances (its one track each, your best recorded track) throughout October ready for Christmas. Small cost of CD’s to cover production (usually £2 each).
October 25th SUNDAY ACOUSTIC JAM 4 – 8 pm in the Wrekin Inn
December 22nd 2015
CHRISTMAS SINGALONG Popular night out for all, the open mic-ers lead a seasonal tune or two each and we can all singalong, word sheets, mince pies etc. provided.
Please note that since this was added to the calendar stuff may have changed. It’s not my fault, it just happens sometimes.
