More Events in Telford Town Park

Following the success of T-Live and T-Party which attracted 1000s to Telford Town Park’s QE II Arena over two weekends, Telford & Wrekin Council is committed to holding similar events next year.

T-Live was the first outdoor gig to be held in the Town Park’s Arena for many years and formed a part of the hugely successful T-Party event the previous weekend, which included a range of free community events.

The reaction from people who were at T-Live, and T-Party the weekend before, has been hugely positive, with many on social media hoping for a repeat next year:

Both T-Party and T-Live offered a range of events for residents while helping to put Telford on the map as an exciting place to visit for all the family.

The town centre is already at the heart of the £250m Southwater development which will open next spring, while the Town Park is growing its appeal, with the new water play area and an aerial ropes course set to open later this year.

At T-Live more than 3,000 people music from local bands, The Making and M.A.D.I.S.O.N., support acts, Stooshe, Luminites and Loveable Rogues, and headliners, McFly.

Telford & Wrekin Council leader, Kuldip Sahota, said: “We’ve had so much positive feedback about both events and many people urging us to do it all again next year.

“We are fully committed to hosting a similar series of events again next year and the buzz surrounding this year’s T-festivals will continue as we build Telford’s reputation as a place where exciting events happen and that people want to visit.

“There was definitely a learning curve in our first year but we will be able to take lessons from this and make sure that next year is even better.

“We now have a very strong platform on which we can now build as we start planning for 2014 and with a very proven format to take to promoters.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the two weekends for making them happen and for their success, to everyone at the council who worked on or volunteered for this event and to event management company Seventh Sense, to Cineworld and Telford Shopping Centre for supporting us, to the bands, the stallholders and to everyone who attended and helped to create a fantastic atmosphere on the day.”
