Anyone seen or heard from Mark Pritchard MP recently? His website if full of saving Indian churches and asking the Royal Mint to knock up some special coins to celebrate the 350th year of the Book of Common Prayer, but precious little else of local interest. Does he even hold local surgeries any more? David [...]

Have seen a couple of close calls to date. Two problems are the selfish (or from what I have seen the rather overweight lazy sods) that park on the road, rather than the two car parks, behind tesco or at the church, and the lack of a proper crossing. The road becomes a bottle neck [...]

There is also the ‘feelbad’ factor too. These are PAYE people, not fat cats.

The WORST place for this is Madeley I think is the one at Tescos cause standing in the side of the road the actual tescos store is on, as a pedestrian you can’t see around the corner to your right so how the hell are cars meant to!?!! I work at the tescos and have [...]

I think you’d have to group them or it would be like strobe lighting!

Sounds like a bit of a waste of time, by the time you add on admin costs too. :(

Why dont they make street lights work off passive infra red sensors, then they would only work when needed

Yes I don’t see the point of all the lights either.

I’m all for dimming/turning off some of the lights, depending on the area/road. A lot of the main roads can have the lights turned off. There’s a ridiculous amount of background light around with all the street lights, so getting rid of some of it sounds like a good idea really – dimming the lights [...]

I heard a guy on the radio (did a lot of driving today!) had a demand for 11k hit the letterbox today. A civil servant so they had all his details. It’s a bit shoddy isn’t it. Apparently, they are trying to claw back £2bn and will have to refund £1.8bn. I wonder if they [...]

Some councils are turning off or dimming street lights to save cash and (yawn) cut carbon emissions. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11209143 Do you think we should consider this in Telford? I heard an interview with a guy from a Somerset council on the radio today and he said residents were consulted and it had no effect on crime [...]

I struggle with any network at home, but Orange and T-Mobile seem OK for me around Telford.

I’m using Three having previously been on Orange and finding no problems with it at all, unlike Orange. Had T-Mobile and got rid of it as soon as I could because the signal was getting worse, the more they “improved” the network with new transmitters. When you’re out of range of a Three transmitter, your [...]
