No, not a comment on local politicians, but I saw a big rat in TF1. He even posed for a picture. They must be loving this nice weather. Is there a pest control problem in the town?

Actually, those long bricks are 9″ long so that rat must be around 10″ to 12″ with the tail. And yes, thats a little bit of wee that started appearing as I took the pic!

You should be at Wellington station at 6.30am any day you choose. You’ll see regular “commuter rats”. No, not the type with briefcases and brollies, but your actual furry rodents – hundreds of them running alongside the rails mopping up the remains of late-night burgers, kebabs or chips lobbed over the bridge and onto the tracks. Constitution Hill is just the “other side of the tracks” !!

urgggh reminds me of when I used to get dropped of at Telford central and walk through the big car park, there used to be bushes on the end of each section of the car park and every couple of minutes you’d see massive rats running from one bush into another, it was horrible, worse still was the shrubbery beside the steps from the bridge, the noises coming from there was horrible, scratchy sound.

    urgghghh I’ve gone all itchy!

It might help if the local take aways and those using them took some responsibility for their litter. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve had to pry chicken bones from Shroppy Dog Mk II’s clamped jaws and we usually get one or more ‘gifts’ of discarded after-pub slop chucked into our garden at the weekend.

Don’t bother talking to the council about it though, heaven forbid they do anything to challenge the much-lauded ‘night-time economy’.

Don’t be too hard on the rats. If you’re looking to criticise an over-populated and hazardous species, you need look no further than our own!
