Business as usual in Ironbridge during Roadworks
Extensive surface dressing work is taking place on the main thoroughfares through Ironbridge this week as part of Telford & Wrekin Council’s Pride In Your Community programme of environmental improvements.
The Wharfage, Tontine Hill and High Street will all have their surfaces upgraded.
Initial application of surface dressing took place today with stop and go traffic management and restrictions on parking.
Wednesday to Friday will be a bedding in period with loose chippings on the road and theaffected surfaces being swept. The site will have no road markings or cones during this period.
Friday will see a finished surface being laid down. No waiting cones will be put out to restrict parking.
Next week will see the double yellow lines and on street parking bays being re-marked.
During June, traffic counts will be carried out to assess vehicle speeds through the site and carriageway patching works will be completed on Dale End roundabout with resurfacing works to the zebra crossing.
Elsewhere in the Ironbridge Gorge, surface dressing will be completed at The Lloyds and Coalport High Street during the course of this week, which will require a road closure. Road markings will be replaced next week.
Surface dressing will also be carried out on Wednesday/Thursday between the B4373 and the Ironbridge Road junction under stop and go traffic management. The finished surface will be installed by the end of next week with road markings reinstated the week after that.
