Swan song for Telford pub?

Swan song for Telford pub?

Plans were passed last night for a residential development on the site of the current Swan Hotel in Wellington.

The current pub was built on the site of an earlier pub in the 1920s or 30s and has recently been offered for sale at £495,000.

Under the current proposals, the pub would be demolished and new housing built.

Another lost Telford pub.

Of course plans were passed. Money is more important than history or good sense.

Owner explained how he has been trying to sell if for years but no takers. It has failed as a business venue. The vote was to demolish it or not. No decisions have been taken about any housing on the site. There was only an indication of what might go there. Nothing is decided.
