Dhaka Tandoori Closes is doors
Dhaka Tandoori Closes is doors
The restaurant and takeaway in Wellington that was implicated in the 2012 grooming cases has closed.
The website has gone, the phone number diverts to another takeaway and the signs at the front of the building have been removed.
In the 2009 grooming case, the BBC reported that one victim was taken to a flat above the restaurant up to seven times to be sold as a prostitute.
Dreadful business x poor girls x
Séan KearneyKearney was that one then. Xxxxx
I would think that many, many people knew this was going on but decided not to say anything. Anyone who kept their mouth shut is also guilty. Perhaps everyone can learn by this and shout out when they see depravity like this in future.

Where was this takeaway please?
These men should now be charged with abuse and child rape.
Baffles me that it’s taken so long and why would anyone want to eat there when they know what’s going on above them disgusting
Natalie Huxley this was the one I was on about earlier that’s in the book xxx
The phone number that diverts to another takeaway must be under suspicion surely. I’d be keeping a close eye on that

50 yd from the mosque.
What a coincidence.
Dirty bastards should be deported.
The family were lovely and unconnected to the case, it’s such a shame. My husband and I have been dining there for 20 years and know them very well. A well educated and highly regarded family, sad to see them go xx
I don’t believe that the owners were unconnected with what happened. How can you not know what is goIng on above your head in your own building. Doesn’t sound right to me.
It wasn’t only happening in the Dhaka it was all happening in other wellington restaurants but nobody mentions these and they are still open. I to have been going to the Dhaka for years and have know this family and know they had nothing to do with it. The flat is totally separate and doesn’t have access from the restaurant. Leave them be and concentrate on the other guilty business.
Everybody is an expert now then? Actually they have sold the restaurant due to the petty minded pack mentality hounding.
The Ahmed family were lovely and the flat at the back where the abuse happened was nothing to do with them.
Their business has been decimated and the people that actually were deeply involved in this have waited until the business was on its knees and swept in and bought it!
Strangely they are concentrating on refurbishing the flat before the restaurant so draw your own conclusions from that – incidentally you probably happily eat in all the other Asian restaurants and takeaways in Wellington ……. so you think about that !
Good riddance, I’m glad people avoided it enough for it to close
Have known the owner from when he came to Wellington and opened his first restaurant with his brother, the owner then moved to the Dhaka and his brother went to open another in Bridgnorth. The Dhaka cooked the best food in Wellington, staff were dressed impeccable, service and manners second to none, will miss the place and the family.
Too much corruption in the other restaurant’s, nothing was said about the illegal workers living above one restaurant in Wellington, the owner denied any knowledge of them being there, that must have been the night the pigs were flying past. Lots of words flying about another pub in the town running a brothel above the premises, nothing said or is it because the police do not want to get involved in case they are called racist.
