Unsusual plans for a Telford Car Park

Unsusual plans for a Telford Car Park

Telford Shopping Centre have announced that The Retreat, a car park rooftop garden is due to open soon. Billed as a quiet space with a wide range of sensory experiences, visitors can immerse themselves in the scents, textures and colours of this relaxing space.

Located on 3rd floor of Yellow Beech car park, by House of Fraser, The Retreat will be open daily.

Designed for all customers to enjoy, The Retreat has been developed in close partnership with Telford Autism Hub, who also named the garden. Many people with ASD have difficulties in processing everyday sensory information so the garden has been designed as a lovely area of escape.

This is one of many autism friendly changes throughout Telford Centre which also includes Autism Champion Training. The Champions can be identified by their autism champion badge (look out for the jigsaw logo) and will be the first point of contact within the centre if anyone needs help, support or signposting to other organisations that can help.

Great idea. Anything that raises awareness of Special Educational needs or disabilities and makes our town more inclusive/friendly is welcome . : )
