I’m not talking about little Johnny on his balance bike, wobbling to nursery, but grown men and women, sometimes wearing more body armour than an AFO on Line of Duty, riding around Telford.
Is it acceptable for them to be riding on the footpath?
cyclists should have half of the footpath designated to them, like they do in Australia, wide footpaths, the roads are overcrowded and cyclists don’t stand a chance. if we want less air pollution, make cyclists safe.
My dad used to ride on silkin way from donnington to halesfield every day to work because it was safer than going down the A442 but more cycle paths would be better for all of us to be able to take advantage of this non carbon footprint
When we taught our children to ride their bikes, we taught them then to ride on the road with us. No one should be out on their bikes if they don’t feel confident and proficient enough to ride on the roads. Also wearing helmets should be law.
I’ve lost count of the times I’ve nearly been hit by bikes, they fly down past the White Horse pub on Finger Rd, we have also had wing mirrors knocked off
As a cyclist who uses MTB for fun and hybrid for work I would always complain about cyclists using the footpaths but I’ve slowly changed my stance as the cycle paths are in poor condition now and often stop dead with no connection for a while so you either ride on the road and risk your life with inconsiderate drivers who will not give you the gap you require, also with now riding with my young children and my wife who is inexperienced they find the road with traffic daunting so use footpaths untill cycle paths are found
Are you suggesting that if you are inconvenienced for a few moments your response is to try and kill somebody. What is possibly that important that it is worth taking a life.
nope
Footpath, get them out of the road.
There should be more cycle paths.

Tricky one, should be on the road if it’s safe to do so. But I know many feel too unsafe on the roads.
I feel unsafe on the road but I use cycle paths where I can and paths when there is none. I take great care and don’t bomb around like a loon.

Both as long has they respect others x
Problem is it both yes and no
It annoys me when there’s a cycle path, but they still use the road or footpath. What’s that about then?
I ride on the footpath when the roads are busy but I always stop and pull to the side if people are on the footpath
Under 16 on pavements – older than that the road unless there is a cycle path x
Cycle paths, thats what they’re for.

Have you seen some of the drivers in Telford?
Not on the road as they have no consideration for other road users they feel they own much more than the lane provided for them

If they should ride on the road then they should have to pay insurance and tax as do other road users defo should be using the path

You should be aloud to push them off when they are making traffic problems.
We only moan when they are on the road!
