Flood warning issued for Buildwas, Ironbridge Gorge & Jackfield

Flooding is expected – immediate action required. This was the warning that appeared on the Flood information website this afternoon.

River levels have risen at the Buildwas river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall.

Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected from this morning, Saturday 15/06/19.

Flooding is affecting properties on Ferry Road. Predicted Peak at Buildwas 4.85m to 4.9m this evening Saturday 15/06/19.

Further light rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until Sunday 16/06/19.

We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
