Sunday Mirror: Cash to fight CSE turned down

“Council chiefs in Telford turned down a £150,000 grant that could have saved hundreds of child sex abuse victims, it has emerged.

A furious insider claimed officials were worried that accepting the funds would bring shame on the town by highlighting its grooming problem.

Victims last night slammed the move to scrap the initiative, which aimed to help professionals spot the signs of exploitation and trafficking.

The money was offered in 2010.”

“bring shame on the town by highlighting it’s grooming problem” Makes Telford sound like it’s the only place in the UK that has this sick crime, it’s been revealed here, yes, but how many places is it still going on up and down the country?

Sunday Mirror once again dragging up old news to use as headlines in their gutter press. So disappointed in this “news” paper, but when you’re chasing sales…

How is a bit of embarrassment comparable to child abuse. Who the fuck was in charge. Give out names! Maybe if they weren’t so sacred of the embarrassment of being shit at their jobs they would of actually done their jobs properly! Cowards!

I think The Mirror are trying to highlight the fact that this was, yet again, another Tory blight.

I don’t understand how Receiving 150k would have any impact on the monsters doing what they do… They are everywhere and will find ways to do what they do, regardless to the amount of money a council has… I’m not defending them, as I think it’s disgusting the amount who have voted against no further investigation needed, makes me think they have something to hide, but I really don’t see how 150k would of stopped these monsters

The council and police get worried of being accused of racism, yet this worries them more than the innocent victims of rape and abuse by Asian males from Wellington. It has been happening for years and every time I mention it accused of being racist. Which I’m not: if , Asian, Muslims, Pakistani, males offend you, move away and leave our innocent young girls alone
