No camera plans for Morrisons at Lawley

No camera plans for Morrisons at Lawley

Lucy Allan MP has recieved assurances from Morrisons CEO that the supermarket have no immediate plans to install the ANPR cameras despite successfully appealing and overturning the planning decision.

Welcoming this news, Lucy Allan said:

“This is great news for residents in Telford who shop at Morrisons and use the other facilities. Residents can be assured that they can continue to shop at Lawley as per usual with no car parking restrictions.

“I would like to thank Cllr Lee Vidor and Cllr Jayne Greenaway who have been campaigning with local resident’s and Morrisons to find a solution. I will continue to work with Morrisons and engage with residents to ensure that they are consulted and notified about any changes which may take place in the future.”

I go there quite regularly and have never had any problems finding a parking space! Really – never ever! Not once! Ever!

If parking is such a problem then why does nearly every driving instructor and the DVSA use it on Driving Tests?
I think those who complain are the ones that want to park right outside the doors and not walk the 100 yards to the door from the bottom of the car park.

‘No immediate plans’ = ‘We’re going to wait until the fuss dies down and then we’ll put them up without telling anyone’. Load of bloody rubbish and after all the work that my fellow Lawleyians have put in to fighting this, it must be galling for them for Lucy Bloody Allan to take any credit

      We’re you at tonight’s meeting ?
I think the general consensus is that Morrison’s are not going to get away with this.
