Priorslee van crash driver arrested after positive drug test

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision that occurred on Castle Farm Way in Telford at 11.10hours on Monday 2 September 2019.

The collision is believed to have occurred when a Silver Toyota Yaris was travelling along Salisbury Avenue before arriving at the junction with Castle Farm Way A4640.

At the junction the Toyota was in collision with a white Mercedes Sprinter van travelling along Castle Farm Way heading in the direction of the M54, J4.

The driver of the Toyota, a man in his 60’s from Telford, suffered serious chest injuries and was taken to North Staffordshire University Hospital via Air Ambulance. He is currently in an induced coma in a serious but stable condition.

The passenger in the Toyota, a man in his 60’s from Cannock, suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the van, a man in his 40’s from Oldbury suffered minor cuts and bruises. He was arrested at the scene for providing a positive drugs test and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

    So someones relative is in intensive care because someone felt it was acceptable to drive whilst under the influence of drugs… wishing the gentleman a speedy recovery and live to his family.

    Bummer init old guy crashed into a van and guy in the van gets arrested hope all recover fast though
