Bee swarm closes Greggs in Telford

A swarm of bees was recovered from a Telford Greggs outlet by a beekeeper from Priorslee.

Simon Emms was called to the popular bakers after they closed the doors due to a swarm of bees that had taken up residence in a nearby tree.

The bees fell on the floor overnight and ended up outside the Greggs store in Oakengates.  Simon told Telford Live that it was one of the easiest collections he had done, helped by the free coffee from the store.

The bees were recovered to Simon’s back garden in Priorslee where they are currently in quarantine.  Simon offered this advice for anyone who comes across a troublesome swarm ‘go to https://www.bbka.org.uk/Pages/Category/swarm-removal for advice and to find a local collector.”

If you would like to try some local honey or bee products, Simon offers this online with local deliveries from his website https://www.priorsleehoney.co.uk
