Telford Giants Winning Streak

Coming off their 10-6 defeat of Stourbridge Titans last week Telford Giants on Sunday continued their winning ways in their debut season as a club, dominating Wolverhampton Wolves in a 10-0 mercy-rule victory after 6 innings.

Pitcher Charlie Mayhew threw a gem of a game, Striking out 9 and allowing only 1 hit and 0 runs over 6 innings.
First basemen Jack Pollard brought in 4 runs for the team and shortstop Gilberto Pico returned from injury to lead the team in RBI (runs batted in) with 3 for the day.

Manager Tom Rochester commented:
“We had a full roster of big bats today and faced one of the best pitchers in the country. The bats did their job and a full game shutout from our pitching was remarkable. Let’s see what we can do in the playoffs, to lockup the league championship in our first season”

Giants have now won 5 of their 6 games played this season and are atop the WMBL standings (West Midlands Baseball League)
