Eight fire service vehicles attend call out

Yesterday evening, eight fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform and the Incident Command Unit were dispatched to what was thought to be a fire at Sainsburys on Forge Retail Park.

The supermarket was closed and the area cordoned off so Fire Service experts could assess the incident. This involved a drone being launched to check the building from the air.

This incident was found to be an issue with a refrigeration pack on the roof, with no fire involved. Following the inspection, the incident was left with contractors and the fire service left the scene at around 6:30pm.

Teams from from Albrighton, Shrewsbury, Telford Central, Tweedale and Wellington stations were involved in the operation.
