Abnormal load coming through Telford

On Sunday 13 July, police will be supporting Collett & Sons Ltd with the transport of a huge transformer to the Ironbridge Substation.

This abnormal load measures 60 metres long and weighs over 300 tonnes. Because of the size, local roads may be impacted.

The movement starts at 12.00pm from M54 Junction 3, travelling to the site of the old Ironbridge Power Station.

Police have advised ” Expect possible delays and disruption along the route.

“Please plan ahead and consider using alternative routes

“This is a carefully planned operation to ensure the safe and smooth delivery of the essential infrastructure, while minimising disruption to the public.”

Colletts are specialist hauliers and have moved items weighing up to 500 tonnes.
