Stirchley woman sentenced for 12 weeks

A woman who admitted stealing from shops across Telford has been jailed for 12 weeks. Samantha Sheenan, 38, of Castlecroft in Stirchley, was sentenced at Telford Magistrates Court yesterday (Friday 25 July) after pleading guilty to 11 counts of theft.

Sheenan was also handed a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO). This order prevents her from entering the Co-op on Grange Avenue in Stirchley. It also means she cannot refuse to leave any premises or area when asked to do so by an authorised person.

Criminal Behaviour Orders are civil orders used to tackle persistent anti-social individuals. They are issued under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 when behaviour has caused alarm, distress, or harassment.

Police are urging anyone who sees Sheenan breaching her CBO or committing an offence to report it immediately to West Mercia Police. Always call 999 in an emergency.
