Transformer route into old power station site revealed

The huge transformer is coming to through Telford on Sunday 13th July around mid-day, and the route has been revealed to Telford Live by the haulage business who is dealing with the transportation.

The load will exit the M54 at J7 Wellington and make it’s way along the old A5 towards Atcham.

The truck will then turn left and head down towards Wroxeter and on to Buildwas down the A4380.

At 60m in length, the truck (pictured) will then turn right and sharp left towards the power station site avoiding the bridge by the abbey. It will cross the Severn over the bridge right in front of the old power station site.

A spokesperson for Colletts told Telford Live “…there’s been a fair amount of pruning done to accommodate the load, but the configuration will look something like this [pictured inset] with a transformer loaded”
