Silversmiths setting up in Wellington

A new creative studio is opening in Wellington, offering locals a space to learn, create, and connect with other makers.

Jenade, the founder of NICOL STUDIO, is realising a lifelong dream by opening her new shop at 8 Crown Street, moving across town from Oakengates.

The new space will host five-star rated silversmithing workshops and other events such as candle pouring and floral arranging classes. It will also feature a retail area selling curated items from local craftspeople, from ceramics to natural pet treats.

NICOL STUDIO will also introduce a quarterly platform called ‘Meet the Young Maker’ to provide a showcase for new artists.

Jenade said the space is more than just a shop. She added, “It’s a space to connect, create, and celebrate craft in all its forms. I honestly pinch myself that this is real.”

A launch party is planned for Saturday, 27th September, from 4pm to 8pm, where guests can drop in for a glass of fizz and a chat.
