Tonight, the Telford Balloon Fiesta begins.
The Night Glow event is tonight, Friday 22 August, with all 7,500 tickets already sold. Entertainment on the main stage will lead up to the Night Glow at 9.30pm.
The main weekend event is free to attend, taking place in Telford Town Park from 12noon to 7pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
Scheduled balloon flights will take place at 6am and 6pm on both days, weather permitting. There will also be a display by the Wings Parachute Team at 12noon and balloons tethered in the arena.
On Saturday 23 August, visitors can enjoy a Kidszone, Teenage Zone, live music stage, and various stalls and activities.
On Sunday 24 August, a Telford Community Carnival will travel from Southwater Square to the arena at 12noon. This year, the carnival will include a special piece to mark the 150th anniversary of Captain Matthew Webb’s historic swim across the English Channel. Born in Dawley, Webb was the first person to achieve the feat unaided.
