West Mercia Search & Rescue stood down from Wrekin Fire

The volunteers of West Mercia Search & Rescue were stood down at around 12:30pm following the fire on the Wrekin.

The team were called out this morning to assist with informing walkers and visitors to the hill about the fire and directing them to other parts of the area of outstanding natural beauty to enjoy their visit.

The Search & Rescue also brought quad bikes to enable an evacuation should circumstances change quickly.

The fire service remains on scene.
