Could you be a Special Constable?
Aspiring volunteer police officers have an opportunity to learn more about the role at a recruitment event this week. Telford Central Fire Station is host for a Special Constable event on Thursday, 9 October, from 6pm to 8pm.
The event will give those interested a chance to hear from current volunteers, trainers, and operational police teams. They will provide insight into what it means to be a Special Constable and share their experiences of frontline policing, officer safety, and self-defence techniques.
Recruitment staff will be available to answer questions and help with the application process. Attendees can even start their application at the event.
Becoming a Special Constable is described as one of the most rewarding ways to volunteer. The role offers the same training, powers, and uniform as a regular officer.
It is a flexible position designed to fit around current careers and commitments, allowing people to contribute meaningfully to the community.
