Since the A442 was made single track as part of so called traffic calming, the number of accidents has increased. some poor drivers undertake and hog the outside lane. The original problem that I see was wrong and still is wrong with the A442 is that the slip roads are too short. when on slip road building speed up to match carriageway and there is no gap or someone does not pull over you soon run out of slip road . This then forces you to stop on slip road or accelerate fast to pull in front someone.
The highways agency and T&W council need to make whole length dual carriageway again and increase speed back to 70 also lengthen slid roads.

I clearly agree with that statement about the speed limit being too low and also about the slipways. I don’t really work out why some of the exit slipways are so long, it’s not like it’s that busy that they need that long a run up to the roundabouts. Revert it back to a dual carriageway and then maybe we can actually drive at a steady speed without having to brake while driving on the EP to dodge the people that hog wrong lanes, can’t accelerate to join from junctions or can’t drive at an acceptable speed so we don’t have to leave in and out thus causing dangerous driving.
