Dawley lad takes podium spot at World championships
A Dawley boy has won a bronze medal at the BMX World Championships in Copenhagen. Nine-year-old Antek Porębny finished third in his age category, competing against riders from across the globe.
Antek, who trains with the Birmingham BMX Team NRT, has been riding since he was five years old with the Wrekin Riders club in Telford. His family said his success is the result of years of “hard work, determination, and love for the sport.”
In his first season in 2022, Antek was named the British Champion in the under-6 category. He has since continued to achieve remarkable results, including becoming a four-time Midlands Champion and taking second place at both the British and National Championships this year.
On the international circuit, he has raced to a win in Verona, Italy, and secured podium spots in Belgium and Denmark. Antek trains under coach Dylan Clayton and can be followed on Instagram @antek_bmx_w3.
