Last chance to vote for Wellington Orbit
A Telford community-owned cinema is urging people to vote for it as part of a national film awards competition. Wellington Orbit has entered the British Independent Film Awards’ (BIFA) inaugural Cinema of the Year award.
The award is supported by Kia and relies on public votes to help secure a nomination and voting closes on 22 September.
A jury will then choose five nominees, taking into account the public’s votes and the cinemas’ submissions. The nominees are due to be announced on 3 November.
Liam McClelland, director at Wellington Orbit, said: “We’re thrilled to showcase the impact we’re making in our community on a national stage. This highlights the vital role independent cinemas play in keeping our high streets vibrant.
“Every screening is more than just watching a film, it’s an experience. We invite everyone to show their support by casting their vote today.”
