Mature driver courses now £20
Mature drivers can now access a discounted course to boost their confidence and sharpen their skills, thanks to new funding. The opportunity for motorists in Telford comes via a £15,000 grant from Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) John Campion.
The subsidised course, normally £86.50, is available for just £20 for the first 300 people who sign up. It’s a one-hour review delivered by IAM RoadSmart in partnership with West Mercia Police’s Road Safety Team.
An Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) conducts the review in the driver’s own car, from their home. They can even have a friend or relative join them for the session.
PCC John Campion said: “Road safety is one of the biggest areas of concern for people living and working in West Mercia. I know from the correspondence I receive how devastating harm on our roads can be for families and communities.”
Superintendent Stuart Bill, West Mercia Police, said the force wants to keep people safe. “We will continue to work alongside our partners to do all we can to educate mature drivers about how to keep driving safer for longer,” he said.
