Rapper carries PA up The Wrekin for charity

A local rapper has completed a unique challenge, carrying a PA system up The Wrekin to raise money for a Telford charity. Known as Trademark Blud, he performed songs and freestyles on his way to the summit.

The artist undertook the “wild” challenge to raise over £500 for Recharge, a charity that supports young people aged 12 to 21 dealing with substance use or the impact of parental addiction. He said the stories of young people supported by the charity are “truly moving.”

The climb, a distance of approximately 1.5 miles and a height of 407 metres, was made even more challenging by the PA system, which weighed around 20kg.

Trademark Blud was diagnosed with emphysema, an incurable chronic lung disease, in September 2024. He stated this made the climb tougher but also more meaningful.

He said his training paid off. “Six weeks training with a heavier weight and quicker pace made it easier than it would have been,” he explained. He has now raised over £1000 for the charity and there is still time to donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/peakperformance
