The competition celebrates the brightest apprentices in the area, as well as recognising employers for their support of apprenticeship programmes.
All three finalists in the early years and education category are Telford College apprentices – Joseph Archer from Belvidere School, Kylie Bowditch from Southall School, and Tom Miles of Haberdashers’ Castle House School in Newport
Two Telford College apprentices are in the running for the IT and Digital Industries award – Freddie Foster of Connexis, and Josh Howse from the Learning Community Trust.
Ryan Williamson, who works at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, and Agata Serafin from Elite Precast Concrete are finalists in the manufacturing and engineering category, and Summer Craven from Dodd Group is among the final three in the business legal and finance section.
There are also two Telford College apprentices in the creative and media final – Charlie-Mae Grimston from Purple Frog Systems, and Ellie Hendley who works in the college’s marketing department.
The winners will be crowned at an awards ceremony on October 2 at the Mercure Telford Centre Hotel, in front of an audience of around 200 people.
Award-winning event organiser Mark Allsop, who is is organising the competition in partnership with Shropshire Business Live TV, said: “We’re delighted with the response to the awards once again.
“It’s going to be a real celebration of the brightest and best apprentices in the county, and the businesses which go the extra mile to support the next generation of skilled staff.”
