Town club launches player programme
A new initiative to support and develop young footballers from the grassroots level to adult leagues has been launched by Telford Town Football Club. The Player Pathway Programme is a comprehensive new framework, aiming to nurture local talent while also focusing on personal development and education.
The club’s new “Our Club. Our Pathway. Our Future.” framework provides a clear journey for boys and girls from the age of five up to adult level. The pathway covers everything from mini-soccer and youth development right through to full-time academy education and competitive football at a senior level.
“Our pathway is built on belief — belief in every child’s potential, in the power of football to transform lives, and in the strength of our community,” said Ray Lindsay, the Director of Youth. “We’re creating a space where young people can thrive, feel safe, and dream big.”
Hayden Dando, the club chairman, added: “This is more than a football programme — it’s a legacy. We’re investing in the future of our town, giving every player a chance to grow, succeed, and be proud of where they come from.”
The programme includes mixed and gender-specific teams, a fully funded academy with UEFA-level coaching, and personalised development plans for players. The club is also placing a strong emphasis on safeguarding, mental health, and community engagement.
Families, sponsors, and local organisations have been invited to get involved with the pathway and join the club’s journey.
