Free and low-cost activities for young people this half-term
Whether it’s trying something new, getting active, making friends, or building confidence, Telford & Wrekin Council’s expanding youth offer is designed to support children and teens in every aspect of their lives – from health and wellbeing to education, employment, arts and community involvement.
One of the highlights this half-term is the return of Urban Games – a vibrant programme of free sports and outdoor activities for children and young people up to age 16. Held in parks, playgrounds and green spaces across the Borough, Urban Games offers everything from football, netball and hockey to BMX, wrestling, climbing walls and even free fall at Aerial Adventure.
Led by professional coaches including 4 All Foundation, the sessions are open to all – no booking or fancy kit required. Just turn up and join in.
For younger children, Wild Telford sessions run by Shropshire Wildlife Trust offer nature-themed fun, trails and treasure hunts for babies and toddlers. And for budding cyclists, Dr Bike will be at Telford Bike Hub offering free bike repairs and safety checks.
