Man taken to hospital after fire
Emergency services were quick to respond to a fire at a retirement housing complex in Dawley yesterday evening.
Three fire appliances were scrambled to The Ley on Tuesday (28 October) after a fire was reported at 6.29pm. Crews from Telford Central and Wellington fire stations attended the scene, where a ‘House Fire Persons Reported’ was initially declared.
The incident also saw the Land Ambulance Service and Police deployed to the retirement housing scheme, located off Finger Road.
Firefighters confirmed that all residents were accounted for shortly after arriving. One male was taken into the care of the West Midlands Ambulance Service.
The stop message, confirming the fire was under control, was received at 6.52pm.
