Pick your own pumpkin
A local farm shop is offering a trick-or-treat experience with a difference this Halloween, centred around their popular pumpkin patch.
Apley Farm Shop, located on the A442 between Telford and Bridgnorth, will open its pumpkin patch on October 11. It will then host a special half-term event for local families.
The Halloween event includes an enchanted storyteller, a ride on the Pumpkin Express tractor, and a creepy carving cavern where children can get creative with their pumpkins.
Dan Morton, Operations Manager at Apley, explained the excitement. “This is sure to be a spooktacular event and we’re very excited to offer this trick or treat with a difference,” he said.
“Of course, there will in fact be lots of treats as families will get to pick their own pumpkin – whether they prefer gruesome green, wicked white or traditional orange, in a variety of sizes.”
The pumpkin patch will be open on October 11, 12, 18, 19, and from October 25 to 31. Entry, which includes the choice of any size pumpkin and pumpkin patch games, costs £4.50 per person.
For the full Trick or Treat storytelling event, booking is essential. Tickets are £9.95 for children and £2 for adults, with the experience running from 9.30am to 4pm, with last entry at 2.50pm, from Saturday, October 25 to Friday 31.
Visitors are advised to wear suitable footwear and clothing as the field can get muddy at times. Dogs are not permitted on the pumpkin patch itself. To book either pumpkin picking or the trick-or-treat storytelling event, visit the Apley Estate website.
