Something Sketchy: A Unique Comedy Project Unveiled
Ask Seek Knock, the Shropshire-based production company with a focus on welcoming sets and accessibility, have unveiled the poster for their sketch show pilot project, Something Sketchy.
The poster shows the cast, led by ASK founder (and writer of the show) Luke Allen, alongside the up-and-coming talents of Helen Mae Austin (soon to appear in Reckless, alongside Vinnie Jones) and Alex Yousefi (Reduced To Clear, The Tinder Trap) and features supporting performances from the likes of Samuel Anderson (Doctor Who, Gavin & Stacey) and children’s TV icon Dave Benson Phillips.
The poster was designed and created by Ignacio Mazuecos.
“It’s been a dream come true to work on Sketchy over the past couple of years and I’m really excited to share Ignacio’s incredible poster.”, said Luke Allen “I’ve had the chance to work with so many legends of the industry and I can’t wait to get Sketchy into a place to share with everyone!”
Something Sketchy is a unique project in that every sketch has a different director; this ranges from newcomers like Reece Ord and Emily DeJesus to experienced filmmakers, like Rose d’Or winner Matt Holt (A Kind of Spark) and BAFTA Nominee Piotr Szkopiak (The Last Witness, Shakespeare & Hathaway).
All sketches are written by Luke Allen but include a range of local crew, based on the location of the sketch. Sketches have been filmed in Birmingham, Telford, Bristol and London, celebrating regional talent and community collaboration.
The project’s stills were captured by various photographers – including Annalise Best, Veronica Cowley, Orlaith Martin, Dom Mould, Pete Muller and more – several of whom have some of their photography showcased on the poster! The ensemble cast for Something Sketchy also features Emmy Nominee Lola Blue, Edinburgh Fringe Joke of the Year Winner Mark Simmons and Doctor Who stars Katy Manning and Susan Twist – alongside several others, promising audiences a combination of familiar faces and fresh comedic voices.
Described by several cast and crew members as “the most relaxed and friendly sets”, Ask Seek Knock is a production company with a focus on changing the toxic culture of the film industry. ASK’s key principles are creating Welcoming Sets; promoting Integrity and Honesty; Providing Traineeship; and searching for “The Right Answers” to productions.
Produced entirely thanks to the generous support and funding of Telford-based events company, PNP Events, Something Sketchy is expected to be available to watch from early 2026.
