Telford man banned from long list of shops

A Telford shoplifter has been sentenced to 23 weeks in prison and given a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) banning him from several stores in Telford and Shropshire.

Gareth Jones, of Dalford Court, was given the CBO at Telford Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 8th October.

The 39-year-old was given the CBO, which will now run until 2030, and means that he cannot enter the following stores during that time:

o ASDA, Malinsgate,
o Telford B&M Bargains, Telford Forge Retail Park
o CO-OP, Grange Avenue, Stirchley, Telford
o SAINSBURYS, Telford Forge Retail Park
o Telford SPAR, 1 Acorn Way, Telford
o WM MORRISON, Gresham Drive, Lawley
o WM MORRISON, Springhill, Telford
o ASDA, Stafford Street, Market Drayton
o B&M Bargains, English Walls, Oswestry
o B&M Bargains, Telford Forge Retail Park
o BOOTS, 5-9 Church Street, Oswestry
o CO-OP, Bank Farm Road, Shrewsbury
o TESCO, White Lion Meadow, Whitchurch
o TK MAXX, Meole Brace Retail Park
o CO-OP Morris Central Shopping Park

He also must not associate with Michael Leaver.

A CBO is a civil order designed to tackle the most serious and persistent anti-social individuals.

The powers to issue a CBO are contained in the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, where behaviour has been found to have caused alarm, distress or harassment.

Anyone who sees Jones in breach of his CBO or committing an offence should report it to the police immediately.
