Crash on icy road in Newport

Emergency services were called to Abbey Road in Newport this morning following a road traffic collision.

The incident was reported to Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) Fire Control at 8:32 am on Wednesday, 26 November. It involved a single vehicle which had reportedly slipped on ice.

Four fire appliances, including the Rescue Tender, were mobilised from Telford Central and Wellington stations. An Operations Officer and the Police were also in attendance.

Crews used small gear to make the vehicle safe. The incident concluded at 8:47 am.
