Family launch two Christmas light displays

A Dawley family are illuminating the area by decorating two houses this Christmas to raise money for a poignant local cause. The Pickerings are inviting residents to view their elaborate Christmas light displays which officially switch on this week.

The main display at 69 Webb Crescent, Dawley, is already shining brightly. The family have outlined the house and hedges with lights, creating a sparkling display in the front garden that is open for people to visit and take pictures.

They will also launch another themed display—the Christmas Hogwarts Express—on Saturday 8th November at 6pm. This can be found nearby at 23 Manor Road, Dawley.

All money raised from the two displays will go towards the Pickering Foundation. This year, the foundation is delivering Telford’s first baby memorial garden.

A spokesperson for the family said: “This will make such a difference for so many families in Telford who have sadly suffered the heartbreak from baby loss.”

Donation buckets will be available at both properties for visitors who wish to contribute to the cause, or you can donate online here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/pickeringfoundation2025
