Telford writer blends myth for a new novel
Local author Stephen Anthony Brotherton is set to publish his third novel on 28th November 2025, offering a gripping blend of Greek mythology and afterlife adventure. The writer, based in the Telford area, is releasing ‘Borrowed Time’ with The Book Guild.
The new novel is a story exploring love, loss, and redemption. It is perfect for fans of mythic fiction and supernatural thrillers.
The plot features a high-stakes game between gods, devils, and the souls caught in between.
Stephen will be holding a book signing event at the Black Country Hub, Merryhill Centre, Brierley Hill, on 6 December at 2pm.
Stephen said about the book: “I have had a fascination with Greek mythology since childhood and, in particular, the ways in which these stories provide parallel links to aid a better understanding of modern day lives.”
“Borrowed Time is essentially about human connections; the degree to which fate intervenes in lives, and the fact that everyone is searching for the same things out of their existence.”
He added: “The ways of achieving this can be good or bad, but it is all about finding a way to survive. My fiction revisits lives that ended abruptly or that were never really lived.”
“Loss of identity; loss of self; loss of family; loss of relationships. These all figure as headline acts in my stories, but I try to restore a sense of living.”
‘Borrowed Time’ will be available from The Book Guild bookshop, Amazon, Waterstones and all good bookshops.
