Building fire at Shifnal industrial estate

Firefighters spent several hours tackling a large blaze at a commercial building on the Shifnal Industrial Estate during the early hours of Thursday.

Emergency services were called to the site on Lamledge Lane at 04:49 following reports of a significant fire.

Six fire appliances, including the Incident Command Unit and the Light Pumping Unit, were mobilised from Albrighton, Telford, Tweedale, and Wellington.

Specialist operations, fire investigation, and safety officers were also at the scene to manage the incident.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used two main jets and a hosereel jet to bring the flames under control. Firefighters remained on the scene for several hours after the fire was extinguished to dampen down the area and ensure the site was safe.

A stop message was eventually received at 07:30, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is expected to follow.
