Shropshire FA unveils business partnership opportunities
The launch of a new brochure today reveals how businesses can transform the community while achieving meaningful corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals through grassroots football partnerships.
Shropshire Football Association (Shropshire FA) has unveiled its ‘Business Partnership Brochure’ which presents a unique opportunity for companies to genuinely invest in the future of the county.
Overwhelming Local Impact
Grassroots football in Shropshire already has a huge impact. The county is home to over 13,000 players, 1,000 teams, and 170 clubs. This activity is supported by more than 6,000 registered volunteers.
The new brochure shows progressive businesses how they can amplify this significant existing impact.
Why Businesses Choose Football
Partnerships with Shropshire FA deliver measurable social value right across local areas. This value directly addresses key societal challenges, according to the brochure.
- Health and Wellbeing: Partnerships combat issues like obesity and support mental health through increased physical activity.
- Community Cohesion: The investment helps bridge social divides and reduces isolation by building stronger, more connected neighbourhoods.
- Inclusion: It expands opportunities for women, girls, and disabled participants, while supporting youth development.
Flexible partnership packages are outlined in the document. These are designed to match business objectives with specific community needs, from Female Football Development to Mental Health & Wellbeing Initiatives.
Success Stories
Businesses are already seeing tangible results from their involvement.
The brochure showcases Telford-based SEAH’s support for female grassroots football, McDonald’s backing for the county game, and Salop Leisure’s commitment to league development.
Andy Weston, CEO of Shropshire FA, said the association is inviting businesses to “invest in their community’s future.”
Mr Weston added: “Every partnership creates a ripple effect of positive change that extends far beyond the football pitch.”
The overall social, health, and economic return on investment from grassroots football in the county is over £128 million.
