“Awesome”: That’s the verdict on Brookside display

People turned out in numbers to celebrate the arrival of 2026 on Brookside last night – and they loved it!

The display took place behind Windmill School, and according to Cllr Ruth Meadows, were donated for public enjoyment.

Locals took to facebook to give their verdict: 

Su ‘You know ppl slate brookside. But they are the only estate local that does things like this. Fair play brookside.”

Ally ” We’ve not been here long but very impressed with the fireworks in November and this evening. Lovely to see so many of the community out watching”
